Who We Are
At Wood & Water Yoga, our mission is to break down barriers and pave the way for a deeper connection – a connection with oneself, with others, and with the vibrant community that surrounds us.
Our Philosophy We draw from the ancient teachings of the Yoga Sutras, including the Five Kleshas—the core causes of suffering as outlined by Patanjali. These inner veils (ignorance, egoism, attachment, aversion, and fear) obscure the light of the soul. Our practice helps you move through them, not by analyzing your pain, but by awakening your presence.
Inspired by the Bhagavad Gita, we believe that yoga is not about escaping life’s challenges, but about learning to meet them with clarity, courage, and grace. We spiral inward, not loop in cycles of suffering.
Why We Practice You already know your pain. Now, it’s time to know your joy.
Yoga doesn’t start when class begins. It starts the moment you choose to get quiet, breathe, and listen.
Join us. Come spiral inward.
Community and Inclusivity Here, we embark on a transformative journey that transcends the boundaries of physical practice. Our yoga, meditation, and women’s circles are sanctuaries where individuals of all backgrounds and abilities are welcomed into a space of empowerment, reflection, and connection. We believe yoga is not simply a fitness regimen, but a sacred path toward inner peace, awareness, and spiritual awakening.
We are committed to accessibility and outreach. Wood and Water Yoga proudly offers free classes to survivors of domestic violence and individuals in recovery from substance abuse. These offerings are not charity—they are solidarity, a reminder of resilience, and an invitation to rediscover the joy and strength already within.
Together, we create a sanctuary of healing, presence, and possibility. One breath, one movement, one moment at a time.
